Entering the Uffizi Gallery in Florence I will introduce the attitude of the route: essentially interactive. The basic idea is not only to illustrate the works present but to provide the tools, to adults but also to children, to understand the language of art through a simple methodology that makes visible the stylistic and cultural aspects of the various periods (especially from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance).
Through this process the visitors themselves will recognize the differences between a medieval painting and a Renaissance one. Along this path, we will gradually pass from the idealized art of the Middle Ages, through Duccio and Giotto to the Renaissance realism of Masaccio, Lippi, Botticelli (birth of Venus), Leonardo, Raphael to reach a culmination of meanings in the painting of Michelangelo’s Tondo Doni.
Throght this lines we will discover the Florentine artistic identity that is closely linked to the way of being and thinking that makes Florence the cradle of the renaissance but also of all the western anthropocentric thought.
Moreover this artistic path allows us to shed light on the Florentine artistic identity that is different from the Venetian one: if the Florentines prefer a pragmatic approach linked to drawing, the Venetians (like Giorgione, Tiziano) express their emotions essentially with the impact of color. But the most interesting thing to discover will be how easy it is to learn all this! Are you ready?
